Nearly 24.7 million motorists believe that the UK’s parking rules are confusing. On top of this, half of motorists are unaware of their rights with regards to parking and a further 1 in 10 don’t know the difference between the rules for parking in a council or private car park.
It’s no wonder this is the case – parking is a minefield. But the British Parking Association (BPA) has done its best to put this right, with a guide that explains parking rules and what to do if you think you’ve been unfairly ticketed.
Know Your Parking Rights covers everything you need to know about your parking rights and responsibilities
Know Your Parking Rights covers everything you need to know about your parking rights and responsibilities, including the difference between penalty charge notices issued by the local authorities and parking charge notices issued by private parking companies.
The guide also covers the appeals process, outlining the procedure you need to undertake if you believe you’ve received a parking ticket in error, including what to do if your first appeal is rejected.
And in addition to this, the guide also provides info on parking and traffic signs, including the difference between yellows and double-yellows, permit parking and loading bays, so you can avoid getting a ticket in the first place.
